My 15 year old kid just freaked out holding his ears when I played this. Said there was a high pitch frequency I couldn’t hear… ?

I had one of these as a child. It almost killed me. I was letting it climb me and my shirt got caught in the claw tires next to my neck. I couldn't turn it off and my shirt was starting to strangle me. Thank God my mom was there. She either shut it off or ripped my shirt so I could breath again. It was one of the most terrifying moments of my life. Yes, I was a dumb kid.

As a kid it always bothered me that there were cat claws inside of tires. Are they alive? How? If not, why use taxidermied claws instead of metal? How would the air stay in the tires? Are the claw channels sealed off? Wouldn't the claws inside the tire defeat the purpose of air-filled tires by acting like big stiff spokes?
    It's so stupid!
    Drove me nuts.

I'm trying to figure out how they made the claws extend and retract on a moving wheel back then (remember 1980s=sophisticated modern style micro-electronics super expensive and not used in toys back then). Mect triggered by pull/push action) Here is a diagram to better explain what I am getting at:();;;;;;[Legend:() – wheel containing claw…….. axle that moves slightly in/out horizontaly via solenoid,,,,,,,,,,, rigid lever connected to mech. inside of wheel that pressesor pulls on lever inside wheel to control claws] outer ring which turns freely but does not move in/out with axle and is mounted on car body with the axle rod through its center but notattached to the axle

I have had this jingle in my head for years. Its amazing the crap you keep in your head and it pops up every now and then. I had the Camaro or the yellow car whatever it was. Ah the good ol days!

I was searching for Thunder Muscle energy drink and I saw a toy monster truck car and I began thinking about this sweet toy truck I had as a child with tiger claws built inside the wheel. Now I need to buy one some how. They probably cost hundreds of thousands of dollars these days because they were so awesome!

I didn't get to enjoy mine for too long. The first thing that I did with it when I got it was put it in the bathtub because I thought it would work in water like in the commercial. That sure stopped it.

The fact that I just thought about this toy (owned it years ago as a kid) wondered if the commercial was on YouTube, found it and someone else 3 weeks ago also randomly watched this commercial just freaks me out! Seriously, this toy out of billions of toys ever made and we somehow were all looking at this one within weeks and months apart. Freaky ❗

"The Animal" "Clawing it's way to the top!" Ahhh, this world's awful dog-eat-dog spirit of being number one, even manages to be shoe-horned into a kids toy commercial.

Kinda makes sense that the Reagan era helped sow the seeds of widespread corporate corruption, which is now destroying lives as efficiently as any war ever has.

Anyway, fun toy back in the day.
