T.W. “Tex” Troester and the Groovy Rednecks relived memories of Al’s Bar at the reunion festival organized by musician Lightnin’ Woodcock and Steven Sabel of the Archway Theater on Nov. 30, 2013, 12 years after Al’s Bar closed. The downtown L.A. dive on the ground floor of the American Hotel was best known as a punk rock venue, but bands of every genre — from jazz to reggae to experimental — played on its stage.
